There were some real fashion faux pas on Oscars night, and some are regular offenders in the fashion disaster stakes.
Mickey Rourke has been a constant on the “err what the hell are you wearing” list, and even being nominated for the best actor award for film, The Wrestler did not deter him from keeping up his not so great appearance.
Wearing a John Paul Gautier cream tuxedo, with an open shirt, and wait for it NO TIE, paid tribute to his beloved Chihuahua, Loki who sadly passed away earlier in the week.
The kooky star, who adorned his neck with a pendant with Loki’s face on it, fondly remembered the 18-year-old pooch. ..Hmm strange!
The necklace was made by Queens resident, Bettina Wasserman.
The 44 year old who describes herself as a chick who just sells her jewellery at craft fairs and flea markets couldn’t believe it when Rourke personal called her to thank her for to necklace.
She said: ““Mr. Rourke actually took time out of his busy schedule to call and thank me personally. I was shocked. Imagine how busy he must have been with the Oscars around the corner. I honestly do not believe that would have happened if it had been anyone other than Mickey Rourke.”
Organisers were concerned about what Rourke would say in his acceptance speech if he was crowned best actor, especially after his explicate laden speech at the Baftas.
Rourke, said: “I don’t know what’s going to come out of my mouth.”
I’m more worried what’s going to be coming out of your wardrobe, Mickey!
Tilda Swinton has always been a little bit quirky with her look and androgynous frame, but urgh what is she wearing!
In a Lavin skirt and top…yes they are separates, and yes she certainly does look a red carpet disaster.
Tilda, you may as well wear a bin bag, you’d look more interesting!
Amanda Seyfried, might have hosted the award with one hot actor, Rob Pattinson of Twilight fame, but what made her think she could get away with this frock!
This red Valentino gown does nothing for the up and coming star, who looks likes she’s been wrapped up in some left over scraps of satin, tied together with a pretty bow.
Jessica Biel is one very pretty lady, but all I have to say to her in this white Prada dress is…Toga Toga Toga!
Last but most defiantly not least, Beyonce.
The singing sensation wore a House of Dereon couture gown if you didn’t know its her own line.
The dress designed by Lorraine Schwartz, most defiantly doesn’t flatter her amazing figure.
Sorry to say Beyonce, but in that dress you would look more at home as a vase in a Caribbean hotel reception.
