Hey everyone, its been a real long time since I’ve posted on Frock and Roll, but not to fret regular blogging will now be back!

I have just finished my third and final year of uni and are awaiting results….ARGGGGHHHH! So I thought I would try to take my mind of my results by posting about the MTV Music awards.

As you may now if you have read any of my previous posts I am a teeney weeney bit obsessed with the whole Twilight saga of books and of course Robert Pattinson who plays the lead vampire Edward Cullen.

The preview trailer for New Moon the second film and book in the four part series was premiered at the award ceremony to an eagerly anticipated bunch of Twilight fans.

My Friends Will Love Me..NOT!

Another one of my friends has been kind enough to take some photos of some of their oufits so I can include them on my lovely bloggy blog.

Ok, so this is my very good friend Andy.  He has always been stylish and is a super duper shopping partner.

He has given me a choice of two pictures, and to be honest I like both outfits so they are both going on here.

A-Class clothes at A|Wear

Ok, so I normally do a post on my friends fashion, but as some were shall we say rahter reluctant to me me put them on my blog, I had to use my back up…ME!

A new store has opened in the Potteries Shopping Centre, (the best shopping centre near me) and it is a rather good one.

A|Wear is Irelands number one fashion store, and has now got there stores in the UK.

I went in the other week seeking out a dress for a staff night out, and lets just say I was pleasantly pleased by what A|Wear had to offer.

Spring 09 trends and colour palettes are everywhere, from nautical red, white and navy stripes, to flowery and ditzy print numbers, 80’s retro and their own trend the sharp urban look.

I was spoilt for choice, and the staff were so helpful that I just wanted to buy more. But I selected three items and here they are.

Yes they’re not great pics, and I certainly am no budding model, so please don’t judge.

Yes it is me, deliberately with my head chopped off – believe me readers you do not want to see it!!!

Hmm, didn’t realise how bad the strap marks were. But hey it’s been sunny here and doing uni work in the garden is way better than it  the house.

CUPCAKE BANDEAU DRESS – £30 A|WEAR

SHOES (MY FAVOURITE SHOES IN THE ENTIRE WORLD) -£20 NEXT RUNWAY COLLECTION

NECKLACE – £14 URBAN OUTFITTERS ♥

Now for the second outfit

Ahoy there

NAVY TULIP SKIRT – £22 A|WEAR

NAVY AND CREAM 3/4 LENGHT SLEEVE TOP £16 A|WEAR

SHOES (YE-OLD FAITHFUL) -£35 DOROTHY PERKINS

NECKLACE – £14 URBAN OUTFITTERS ♥

I really really like quite a lot of the clothes in A|Wear at it is definitely worth checking out their shops or their nicely laid out and well stocked website.

I think quite a lot of my wages will be spent in their shop.

Drew Barrymore – Her best week in fashion?

We have seen a lot of Drew Barrymore this week as she has been out and about promoting her new film Grey Gardens.

The film is based on the life stories of the eccentric aunt and first cousin of Jackie Onassis, who were both named Edith Bouvier Beale, aka Big and Little Eddie.  Jessica Lange is playing the role of Big Eddie, with Drew Barrymore as Little Eddie.

Drew has a had a busy few weeks promoting the film, but she has never let the fashionable side down!

So lets take a look at some of her outfits from the past week.

The first outfit is when Drew headed to “Live With Regis and Kelly an American chat show based in New York.  Drew opted for a black and white asymmetric striped Narcisco Rogriquez Spring 2009 dress, which she teamed with red Miu Miu sling-backs.  Her hair was tied back in an effortlessly chic up-do with lots of plaits.  She matched her lipstick with her shoes, now that’s what I call stylish!

Drew Barrymore

At the New York premiere of Grey Gardens, Drew opted for a glamourous Alberta Ferretti gown, which was embellished all over.  She teamed it with a matching clutch and a hair style that perfectly suited the 1940s.

Later on in the week, Drew visited “The Late Show with David Letterman”, and out came another fantastic dress.  She wore a black off the shoulder figure hugging, Giambattista Valli Pre-Fall 2009, which had large puffy sleeves.  She wore Giuseppe Zanotti two-toned cut-out sandals with it and the look was completed with her hair knotted in a classic up-do.  She teamed it with huge gold flower stud earrings.

Drew Barrymore

Ok, so it wasn’t an premiere or an interview on a chat show, but she still looked stunning.  Drew was seen this time seen arriving at the Four Season Hotel in Hollywood.

She was dressed in a gorgeous aubergine long sleeved Nina Ricci, Pre-fall 2009 dress.  It had a peplum skirt and had a very vintage looking brooch attached.  She completed the look with Gucci slingbacks and some rather large shades which I sooooo want!

Drew Barrymore

Attending the “Inside Grey Gardens” panel discussion presented by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in Hollywood yesterday, Drew once again looked stunning.  I really love this dress!  It was a sea green one-sleeve Elie Saab Fall 2009 dress.   It was nipped in at the waist which showed of her figure. She finished the look with her hair styled in an updo with a peacock-feathered hairband.  However I don’t think I am very keen on the shoes with that dress.  I like them, I just think she could have made a better choice.

Armani Exchange Watch Launch Party

Celebrities went in droves to the new Armani A/X launch, and most of the celebs looked fantastic, apart from Lindsey Lohan who looked like she needed lessons in how to apply fake tan properly, but we will save the best or should I say worst till last.

Heroes star Hayden Panettiere, looked great in a green one shoulder dress.  She teamed it with nude stilletoes and of course an Armani watch that perfectly matched her shoes.

Sophia Bush pulled off this bondage style dress designed by Alexander Wang.  She wore it with some Christian Dior gladiator heels and a quilted Chanel bag.  It is the second time this dress had been worn to a star studded event, as Diana Kruger was seen wearing it a few months earlier.

Jamie King looked ready for Spring in this floral dress. I love her red heels and how she is bang on with this years Spring/Summer floral trend.

Now for the bad. Yes she is a frequent offender on the style faux pas list… drumroll please…

Its Lindsey Lohan!!

Ms Lohan wore a white strapless Balmain mini dress, which had silver embellished detailing.  She wore black strappy heels with that showed off her incredibly uneven tan.  Hmm you would think with all her money she would at least get a decent fake tan or someone to apply it properly for her.

Get your own piece of Twilight Fashion

Ok, so this week I received my very eagerly awaited copy of Twilight on DVD.

I was sooo excited, and still am as I can watch Robert Pattinson play Edward Cullen all day if i wish! WOOOO!

Twilight may not be one of the most fashionable films ever, but as I was surfing the web I stumbled across a replica of Bella’s blue coat she wears when she reveals that she knows Edward’s a Vampire.

The coat is already that popular that the site which is selling it Fred Flare, has had to put a waiting list on the item.

Hit movie, hit coat!

Hit movie, hit coat!

Bella Coat

The Bella coat, but no Edward 😦

BB DAKOTA who originally made the jacket, have decided to re-release the jacket, after its popularity since Twilight hit our screens.

The coat retails at $64, but you might be waiting a while for it girls, and unfortunately they only have limited quantities.

Shame it doesn’t come with your own personal Edward Cullen, then that would definitely be an investment!

The 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards

Merengue of the night award goes to…. Country singing sensation CARRIE UNDERWOOD

Her dress was a gorgeous shade of red, and yes it was very dramatic, but I don’t think I have ever seen a dress so big!  I mean how the hell did she get to the stage,   it even looks like the curtains are part of the dress!

Is your dress big enough Carrie?

Is your dress big enough Carrie?

Yes, yes I know I’ve just dissed her but, I just love the dress she wore on the red carpet at the beginning of the ceremony.  The pale pink one shoulder gown, was nipped in at the waist, with gorgeous embellishment on the shoulder strap, and you know how I like a bit of shine on an outfit.

A much better choice in dress Carrie!

18 year old , Country singer Taylor Swift, looked stunning in a one shoulder Angel Sanchez dress in a deep red.   She looked enviably stylish with a dash of red lipstick on, simple accessories and a effortlessly chic up-do.

Brazilian Model Camila Alves, and actor boyfriend Matthew McConaughey looked fabulous together as always.  But if I am honest I’m not concentrating on Camila, even though she does look pretty, but it’s all about Matthew McConaughey for me  ♥  ♥ ♥ ♥ He looks fantastic in Hugo Boss, and definitley looks dressed for the Country Music Awards, in a tan leather jacket, whitewash jeans and some what look like worn work boots, but boy does he look hot and of course stylish!

I am not jealous of you Camila...much!

LeAnn Rimes opted for a LBD.   However it was very in trend with a tulip skirt, and a plunge front and back top. She teamed it with some studded gladiator heels.  I really like her look here, as I love the tulip skirt style.

The American Museum of Natural History Dance 2009…The Terrible

Things just got worse at the American Museum of Natural History Dance 2009, with the socialites making a real show of themselves and certainly attracting all the wrong kind of attention with their outfits.

I have no idea what Byrdie Bell was thinking stepping out of her house like this.

Sack the Stylist?

Sack the Stylist?

Has someone stolen all her mirrors?

This floral dress is just so wrong; I cant even put it into words. I mean floral and ruffles and then what can only be described as ‘things’ dangling off it. It is just a big NOOOOO!

Then to top it off, thigh high boots!

I wouldn’t be proud to pose in that Byrdie.

I can’t figure out which outfit is worse, Byrdie or Fabiola Beracasa

I am sure Fabiola is wearing a similar outfit to singer Lady Gaga, who seems to be a huge fan of leotards, but she wore it minus the leggings.

Lizard or Socialite?

Lizard or Socialite?

The look is just wrong for her, she looks like a lizard in those leggings.  Lady Gaga and her quirky style only just gets away with it, but Fabiola most definitely doesn’t!

Her make up doesn’t do much for her either, she piled on to much foundation, and looks like a doll…sorry to sound so bitchy but It’s true!

Whatever possesses some of these people, it’s beyond me!

American Museum of Natural History 2009 Dance…The Bad!

Now, this is where things start to go down hill, hmm where to start.

Its going to have to be Veronica Webb.

Dull, Dull, Dull

Dull, Dull, Dull

The former model turned journalist and TV presenter, just looked drab in a brown and mustard floor length dress.

It did nothing for her, and just made her complexion look dull.  Her shoes are terrible and with no accessories its just bland.

Poor effort Veronica

Next on the bad list is, Vanessa Carlton.

The singer songwriter, and pianist looked like she had just come of the set of an Addams Family film.

A new Mortisha Addams in the making?

A new Mortisha Addams in the making?

I really don’t understand this look, is she trying to go for the gothic look with the biker jacket, if so she has gone way over the top.

Not a great look for you at all Vanessa.

American Museum of Natural History Dance of 2009…The Good!

It was the American Museum of Natural History 2009 annual dance this week, and it was a bit hit and miss to what the dress code was, judging by what some of the celebrities were wearing.

Some stars looked fantastic while others just looked simply shocking, so here’s a look at the good, the bad, and the down right terrible.

Jessica Alba and hubby Chase Warren looked the ever-happy couple, with Jessica looking fantastic in a Narcisco Rodriquez dress.

I really like this dress from the Rodriquez Resort 2009 Collection. It follows the ones shoulder dress trend, which is key for the season, and colour blocking which also features high on the must wear list.

Teaming it with black tights and statement earrings completes her look.

Milla Jovovich, looked like she was stepping off the red carpet from an award show, in this deep red velvet gown.

Her fantastic gown had an ivory fabric stitched into the train on the back of it, just peeping over the deep red velvet.

Her soft curls and Cartier jewels topped of the outfit.

I really like her look, but judging by all the other celebs she looked a tad overdressed.
